Tune of the Week: Chico Science

Chico Science was a singer/songwriter from Recife, Brazil. Along with his band, Nação Zumbi, he helped birth the musical style “mengue bit” which blended the traditional rhyhtms of the Northeast of Brazil with rock, funk, soul, electronic and hiphop music. Their music is a fascinating mix of traditional and contemporary music. After only two albums and 30 years of life Chico died in a car accident.
